The Type Filter

With the checkboxes in the upper area, you can hide or show a specific group of actors. With a single click, you can hide or show all actors, all characters or all static meshes. You can then fine tune your selection by using one or more edit fields.

The Text Filter

To open the text filter section, double click on the caption "Text Filter" or click on the arrow left of the caption. Writing a word prefixed with + character will show all actors where the label contains the word after +. For example +wall will show all actors containing the word "wall". Writing a word prefixed with - character will show all actors where the label contains the word after -. For example -stair will hide all actors containing the word "stair". The filter is not case sensitive. You can add as much edit fields as you like to perform a more detailed selection.

Visibility, Ticking, Collision

The plugin not only changes the visibility. When you hide an actor, it also disables ticking and collision checking. Your selection works in Edit mode as well as in Play mode.

Installation


Create a folder named "Plugins" inside your project root, if it does not yet exist. (The example project shown here is named "PluginTest")

Copy the zipped file into this folder and extract it.

Start your project from the Epic Launcher or by double clicking the .uproject file.
Inside the Unreal Editor choose Menu "Edit->Plugins" to open the plugin window.
A the left list click the category "Productivity" to show the "Show" plugin
Click the small "enabled" box left from the icon
Allow the editor to restart.
Simple Activation
After restart the plugin starts automatically. You don't need to activate anything to make this plugin work. In the World Outliner, you can find the ShowManager. This is an invisible actor which the plugin has added to your scene. When you select the ShowManager, you can modify the properties as described above.
