A common problem when constructing huge levels is to find individual actors in your scene. With hundreds of meshes, it gets more and more complicated to build your level and place actors at the right location. There is always something in the way.
You can now use the "Show" plugin to hide or show individual or group of actors. The clear design of the interface is self-explanatory and makes it easy to select specific items in a fast uncluttered way. With a single click, you can hide or show all actors, all characters or all static meshes. You can then fine tune your selection by using one or more edit fields..
Version 1.2 has been released for Mac. Windows is on the way.
With the checkboxes in the upper area, you can hide or show a specific group of actors. With a single click, you can hide or show all actors, all characters or all static meshes. You can then fine tune your selection by using one or more edit fields.
To open the text filter section, double click on the caption "Text Filter" or click on the arrow left of the caption. Writing a word prefixed with + character will show all actors where the label contains the word after +. For example +wall will show all actors containing the word "wall". Writing a word prefixed with - character will show all actors where the label contains the word after -. For example -stair will hide all actors containing the word "stair". The filter is not case sensitive. You can add as much edit fields as you like to perform a more detailed selection.
The plugin not only changes the visibility. When you hide an actor, it also disables ticking and collision checking. Your selection works in Edit mode as well as in Play mode.
Create a folder named "Plugins" inside your project root, if it does not yet exist. (The example project shown here is named "PluginTest")
Copy the zipped file into this folder and extract it.
Have fun and more productivity. Thank you for buying "Show".
